Gallery 1855 – June Visual Arts Program

Two great creative development opportunities.

1: Studio Tour to Adelaide Central Studios. Alison Main, Frances Griffin and Ian Willding are currently exhibiting at Gallery 1855. Visit the exhibition and then catch our free bus to the Adelaide Central Studios to visit them at work in their studios. This is a great opportunity to gain insights into studio arts practice and the creativity behind these artists’ work.

When: Thursday 13 June from 4-5pm.

Where: Adelaide Central Studios, Grote St, Adelaide. Free community bus will leave from Gallery 1855, 2 Haines Street, Tea Tree Gully at 3pm, returning 6pm. RSVP by 5pm Friday 7 June.

Cost: Free

2: Fantastication: making art from recycled plastic. Plastic produces enormous amounts of waste from industrial, and even our everyday use but did you know that it can be up-cycled into a vast array of artworks? Join prominent South Australian visual artist and Annabelle Collett to learn how to create imaginative and exciting works of art from everyday plastics.

When: Saturday 15 June 1-4pm.

Where: Gallery 1855 Studio. RSVP by 5pm, Monday 10 June.

Cost: Free

Places are limited. RSVP is essential to Niki Vouis, Arts and Cultural Officer.
